Sometimes, animals just don’t understand how cars works. I was going to work one morning, and a jackrabbit was in my lane…it ran away, but in a way that would ensure it would get crushed if I sped up. It was only after about quarter of an mile that it decided to leave my lane…only to u-turn back into it.
Had a similar thing 30 years ago when I worked 2nd shift, heading home at night. 5 miles from home, empty 2-lane road 55 mph. Little bunny hopping in my lane towards me. I veered left, it followed. I veered right, it followed. No time left to avoid, THUMP! Sad, but I did what I could in the moment…
