Ashes of Creation’s former Director of Communications has released a public statement today giving a glimpse into the timeline of the turmoil surrounding Intrepid Studios’ sudden shutdown.

For those who missed it, speculation began to run rampant over the weekend as news that Intrepid’s co-founder and creative director, Steven Sharif, had resigned “in protest” over decisions being made by the company’s board of directors. We then began to learn that the whole studio was being laid off and shut down with its future uncertain.

Over the weekend, Sharif resurfaced to urge “patience” from concerned and disgruntled fans, promising more clarity once legal filings were announced. This was while we were hearing from devs that the studio shifted almost overnight from a partial layoff to a full studio shutdown, with none of the workers receiving owed pay or any type of severance payments.
