    This is my experience as well. Moving the dac away from the radios and cpu, even just a bit, really helps. And the usb dacs are usually better to begin with. The same thing applies to computers, higher end audio for computers the first recommendation is to move the audio gear outside of the case. Audio interfaces for musicians are almost never inside a desktop case either, its usb or thunderbolt these days. And when 90% of the market is using Bluetooth headphones I think not having an audio jack built in is that big of a deal in 2026.

      No. I do not need good audio quality on a phone, I need convenience.

      And most of those cheap DACs already use the same chips phone motherboards used to have (and still have). Despite that, there are some phone models that have actually good DACs inside, and some companies also used to put very decent DACs on their phones (like LG or Sony).
