AFAIK this is SMS… Well, they are using RCS to hijack it. So you start SMS conversation and if both parties have it enabled or will switch to their protocol. Kind of what iMessage does.

Yeah, I keep RCS disabled on my phone and preferably would replace it with another app, but didn’t know a good alternative.
