Where Fluxer is headed in 2026 and what we’re working on next.
Im trying sharkord atm. Sharkord is alpha but looks promising and the setup is quite easy for self hosting especially if you use it with caddy. Love it, uploads , screen share, DMs.
AI was used in the development of this app because of course it was.
Where did you see that?
Fluxer is PURE slop. 1.5 million lines commuted in one month by one person is obviously not human made.
12m lines of code committed in the last 3 months (the bulk of that within the last month) by one committer doesn’t exactly scream human input.
It was in a blog post on the site that’s conveniently missing now.
Here is what it says in the FAQ:

Fluxer is not vibecoded.
Q: But a random stranger on an internet forum told me it is!
Oh well, then it has to be true, right?
Q: I still don’t trust you!
If you have used any vibecoded software before you’ll know that Fluxer is too good to be that. Trust your own feeling when using the app and when reading the code if that’s your sort of thing, not karma-seekers on Reddit, is my piece of advice.
I will ask him about it. He is active in the “Fluxer HQ”.
how is it heavier to selfhost it in comparison with matrix synapse ?
It’s slopware. It might run fine, and next commit it might die. Synapse is made by humans and a foundation who cares about what they do because they also provide their services to governments.
I suspect fluxer is gonna be where all the discord users inevitably flee to, should that come to pass… But I’ve always been bothered by the project for some reason.
I feel like the vibes are off on the whole thing, which makes me super suspicious of it even if I don’t have an obvious answer as to why that may be.
It feels corporate and the essential features like self hosting and federation are roadmapped, which is just a promise. I really get that there’s serious issues with Matrix, but in the “leaving discord” wars it doesn’t feel fair for them to carry baggage of years of real world concerns and issues, only for a project like this to present a clean slate as superior rather than untested.
Selfhosting is not roadmapped, it’s available today, and has been for months.
While I do agree, it is also just a single developer making this. I’m definitely disappointed with the priorities, but I respect how much work he’s been putting into it
It was originally. Lots of people bought Plutonium and he has now added additional developers.

I think it’s more-or-less accurate to say that it’s “just a single developer”.
While it’s technically true that more than one developer has committed code, the comically overwhelming vast majority of commits were made by a single developer and a battery of automated tools. If we exclude those bots (at least, the obvious ones), then the remaining maybe-human contributors have been responsible for less than 0.2% of the total codebase.
