Yeah, i know Tflops dont mean much when i comes to actual performance metrics. Its still interesting to compare these numbers to things we currently have and 56 Tflops for a console GPU still sounds bonkers.
A 7900XTX has 61 Tflops, a 9070XT 48 Tflops, a RTX 5080 56 Tflops. Those are all high end GPUs costing around 1000 bucks and consuming >300 watts alone. Idk how much a node shrink and a newer architecture will help with that considering how much gen on gen performance uplifts slowed down the last few years. While the release cadence also slowed down on top of that. I cant really believe lower mid tier cards are going to have 56 Tflops even in 2-3 years. Which usually is the class of GPU consoles use. But even midtier cards cost 400 bucks upwards nowadays(5060/9060XT have 20-25 Tflops).
I know its just rumours and leaks. But if we entertain the idea that its true: Wtf is Microsoft planning? Even without the current market conditions that would be a console costing way north of 1000$? I know Helix is supposed target a more premium category. But like wat?
Edit: Seriously the Gabecube already costs over 1000$ with that shitty mobile GPU with 17 Tflops. So its going to be a 2000$ Xbox? Idk man, Xbox do be dumb. But that dumb?
Honestly? I think the next round of consoles will be $1k+ and they will try to rent them to people, consoles as a service. This will help pave the way to cloud gaming that they can completely control, no way to pirate or install unsanctioned mods on their cloud.

1k+ feels like a given either way considering the constant price hikes for the almost 6 year old current gen.
Also i just looked up the prices for PS5 Pro where i live. Its sold out everywhere but would cost ~900$ but on marketplaces its sold for >1300$. jfc
