Someone saw how many clicks LG “investigation” brought to Gamer’s Nexus and wants a piece of that pie.
A researcher claims Samsung TVs without built-in microphones may access microphones in connected soundbars and Bluetooth devices, but no independent evidence proves this.
The researcher, who goes by log4j on X, claims Samsung TVs can search for microphones in connected soundbars and Bluetooth devices and use them to collect audio, which is allegedly reported back to Samsung. However, the researcher hasn’t publicly demonstrated that Samsung TVs record audio through these external microphones or transmit it without users’ knowledge.
While the screenshots offer some detail about the software’s apparent capabilities, they don’t show whether these events were actually transmitted to Samsung, what information might have accompanied them, or how long Samsung would retain any collected data.
Until the researcher publishes the full findings and the claims can be independently examined, there’s reason to scrutinize the allegations, but not to treat them as proof that Samsung TVs are secretly listening to everything happening in your living room.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this person’s claims were true, but the only verifiable information we have about them is they pay Elon Musk $8 a month or more, and these “verified” result claims put in a table were AI generated

They could be true in a similar sense to my ex having a dream where I cheat on her and blaming me for it because it could happen.
Is air-gapping still an option for Samsung TVs and Soundbars? Or do I need to crack mine open and remove the wnics
You don’t need a microphone to record sound. Speakers can act like microphones if you measure the current from the magnets.
