I’d argue that Grace Launcher is on par with Niagara Launcher already, if not better. It certainly has some shortfalls, but given the speed of development, it’s just a matter of time until they’re fixed. But I’ll give Victoria Launcher a try.

Just installed it, it’s not quite as polished as niagara but has some extra features and feels very nice to use.

The digital wellbeing feature is also really well done.

It’s free, open-source, and just a little chaotic.

Chaos is exactly what I’m looking for in something I have to use a multitude of times daily.

Victoria Launcher has barely been my home screen for five days, but I’ve already seen eight updates.

No thanks. I want my launcher to be stable - I don’t want to learn a new way of doing things every day. Nothing against new features, improvements and even experiments, but the core needs to be stable.

TL;DR: I’ve used all 3 and prefer Grace Launcher over Victoria and Niagara.

I ran Victoria for a few weeks and it never did feel quite right. I had Grace launcher installed just to keep up with development alongside Victoria.

At first I really wanted to make Victoria work because it really felt like a fresh take on the Niagara style launcher, while Grace felt like a Niagara clone. Eventually, Victoria had an update that broke things for me and I switched to Grace full time. Grace seems to have found its own personality while still feeling familiar.

Grace offers a better experience than Niagara’s free version without a doubt, and Niagara’s paid version is too much and too costly now.

      Is the search any good?

I liked Niagara’s integration with Sesame, but Sesame is basically abandonware now. I’ve switched to Kvaesitso, but – whilst it can find a lot – its search still feels lacking.

I don’t use the launcher’s search functions, so I can’t answer that for you. Sorry!

I own a lifetime license of Niagara and Grace is my daily driver. So many small things just make it a much better user experience for me. The Niagara developers feel like they lost touch with the community. They added a feature which then became a stock feature in Android, so that was just bad luck, but then they obsessed over themes and didn’t add any new features or attempt to fix persistent bugs. Even their flagship feature, Anycons, they refuse to add new app icons or improve the algorithm, so it’s like what’s the point. And not to mention the absolute trash concept which is limiting the amount of devices you can install it on.
