Religion isn’t trying to reign in particularly actively evil people out of the goodness of their creator’s hearts, it merely seeks to make them and the other masses meek and kept in line so they themselves can make the rules.

There’s more to why they’re especially disliked now that they’ve been in government for a while but that more or less sums up how they won the election. Or rather, how the Tories handed it to them on a silver platter.

They’re not all like that of course but their culture is kind weird, like they don’t even seem to teach proper sex education in all their schools? They teach abstinence and such even sometimes? Wild.

Can they not make a legal claim given that their employer is putting words into their mouth in communications with the public, especially given that it’s highly politically charged wording that would damage their reputation, plus in a normal country saying such things at work like that would get you sacked.

I don’t know the legalities, but if my employer made it seem like I’d said something like that I’d demand an immediate apology, a reprimand for whomever did it, and a public redaction and apology sent to everybody that had received the fraudulent message.

That seems reasonable and fair.

A guy walking around in public with that strapped to his belt in a tactical looking holster is just asking for trouble. He was probably looking forward to the day the cops got him for it. He can’t have been so stupid to have that on and think “this is totally fine, nobody would ever be concerned by this”.

It looks like a big hunting knife. I garden, I have an allotment and grow all sorts for years, I’ve never seen a trowel that looks anything like that before.

Sure, maybe it’s some specialised sharp knife-like trowel from Asia that nobody here has seen before, but that is exactly why it’s reasonable to assume it’s a knife, first and foremost.

I also heard the guy was dressed like he was cosplaying being in the army (in camo), but that may not be the case. It would make one further suspicious of him though, if it is true.

Obviously it was a misunderstanding in the end, but at the same time, I can 100% understand why the fuzz would make some safe assumptions to disarm someone of their potentially deadly weapon.

The bloke can’t have been stupid either, he was carrying the very weapon like thing visibly in public, and when the bobbies asked him to drop it he acted like he had no clue what they were on about? Come on.

I could understand buying and using a trowel that’s weird like that, if that’s what you’re into, but it’s common sense that it looks like a weapon and should obviously be concealed as to not worry joe public. Especially if you’re planning to go around wearing army clothes or whatever, but even so.

Given he’s destroying his own country while the rest of us laugh at him, I expect the civil war will kick off eventually.

That’s his plan though, much easier to reshape a democracy into an Empire during huge societal upheaval like that.

Just gotta keep giving himself more Emergency Powers until he can get it done.

When they’re struggling to eat two meals a day and threatened with homelessness, they’ll work and job they’re given, no matter how awful.

You think the parents of yesteryear wanted to send their kids off to the workhouses, when they knew an education would be better for them, and safer than the workshops?

They didn’t have a choice, because that’s how their society was structured.

The USA is regressing in many small ways that taken together gave a big impact, it’s not crazy to think that they’re reaching a point where many families will be forced to have their kids work to make ends meet.

The kids aren’t privileged, they don’t have a choice, that’s the point. If they choose not to work because they’re moody teens, then they’ll starve. That won’t happen.
