But I’ll also point out the level of incredulity my comment is getting on a social media site, vs. RFK Jr.'s, which should strike anyone familiar with Rock Creek as almost certainly wrong. Yet everyone in the whole news media is either willfully ignoring this or just too lazy to look into it. And honestly it pisses me off because this lack of giving a fuck about basic facts from reporters who we falsely imagine as being employed in reporting facts shows how much we’re in a post-truth society and why we got a con artist as our president.

There was a point where many peace activists saw zionism as a good thing, but then the zionists chose a fascist leader. To be fair in the 1940s it might not have been clear yet that religious nationalism is bad and tends to lead to fascism. What’s odd is that many still haven’t figured this out yet.

The headline is misleading in that this is not the court’s overall opinion, but a concurring opinion that would’ve gone farther:

Basically the majority opinion is that Israel is complying with international law…which I won’t defend, but it’s quite the opposite from what the video is claiming.

I know everyone’s gonna respond that Israel doesn’t actually care about international law, but the video is saying they’re not even pretending and they are, in fact, pretending. No - stop - reality does matter and you shouldn’t encourage people who spread misinformation even if they agree with you. Because then they become Matt Taibbi.

The rain test was far more concerning because it’s much more realistic of a scenario. Both a normal person and the lidar would’ve seen the kid and stopped, but the cameras and image processing just isn’t good enough to make out a person in the rain. That’s bad. The test portrays it as a person in the middle of a straight road, but I don’t see why the same thing wouldn’t happen at a crosswalk or other place where pedestrians are often in the path of a vehicle. If an autonomous system cannot make out pedestrians in the rain reliably, that alone should be enough to prevent these vehicles from being legal.
