hey, read the fucking article!
this sports rival was an example analagy given. The real reason was because she didn’t fit in with the swearing and going to the pub vibe the workplace enviroment had
I get your point, and I’m not sure that’s any better.
Idk about pub vibes. But work culture fit is always a factor when hiring. If the person hiring you doesn’t like your vibe, you ain’t getting the job. Sometimes that extends to the whole team and your 3 month probationary period will heavily depend on you fitting with other workers.
Imagine this, very good grades, strong portfolio and work experience, just to be at the mercy of some random person who rejects you for highly arbitrary reasons like favouring another sports team.
Then you get a default rejection mail, saying they have very carefully considered your application and wish you good luck in your future endeavours.Fuck this system.
Didn’t read the article? The football team was hypothetical. I don’t give two shits about your background if it’s clear you’re not going to get along with the team.
Yeah sure, if someone does not fit in with the team and it’s a rather social job, fair enough.
But using something arbitrary like favouring some sports team, even though this served as an example, this doesn’t seem to be either a significant nor sufficient decision basis.
… because it’s a team of dipshits?
So fire the dipshits instead.
Interesting. What about supporting competing fictional skybeings?
Rayquaza my lord and savior…
You don’t think this is already a factor? Lmao
Why come logic in corporate dictatorship? Don’t doing that!
Do you watch football?
Yes.

More ways to divide us into smaller and smaller groups. “United we stand, divided we fall”
By watching that crap, you’re segregating yourself into a tiny group. Where it’s expected that every tiny group hates every other tiny group.
You ever see both teams joining forces to score goals?
No, you fucking potato!
