Senior Chief Petty Officer. Starfleet is in my blood, and I’ve spent my entire adult life in service to boldly going.

Keiko and Molly are my favorite humans, but Transporter Room 3 will always be my favorite.

Just don’t ask who what’s in the pattern buffer.

  • I love seeing the “FRENCH GOVERNMENT COLLAPSES” headlines.

Like… A governmental collapse and this gestures broadly at France are two VERY different things.

And if I’m being honest, when I first saw the headline I wondered if they floated raising the retirement age again and got rioted into a burned down parliament.

France will be okay, they have protocols for this sort of thing.

… Right? I don’t know nearly as much about the current French government as I do pre-napoleonic France. Am dum American.

  • There was on one that I’ve been in, not sure about this one.

From my understanding, when an MRI is emergency stopped it doesn’t stop immediately, and it causes a lot of damage, so staff are less likely to use it in an emergency. Stupid, yes. But when you’re worried about getting fired for hitting a button, you’re less likely to think of a situation as an emergency. You would think “chain strangling a man” constitutes an emergency though…

As for the staff not stopping the guy making a beeline for the door with more than just words, I’m not sure. I would prefer staff tackle me to the floor rather than let me blithely walk to my doom. Of course I’m only in my 30s…

The hospital is absolutely partly to blame, especially if they didn’t properly convey the danger beforehand. All 3 hospitals I’ve recieved an MRI from have been pretty insistent about making sure I have no metal on or around me before I go in the doors though.

I’d say it’s about 60/40 on the hospital.

  • NYS rangers

How did I miss that part? That’s on me.

Yeah state parks, rangers, and anything that positively manages government land has always gotten the short end of the stick. The state police aren’t as militarily kitted out as some local PDs, at least in my experience.

A state park near where I grew up was basically begging for volunteers because they didn’t have the budget to take care of the park more than 3ft from the parking lot. (mild exaggeration, but you get the idea)

This whole time I’ve been thinking its some local city cops with too much time and not enough training…
