Why is it not completely apparent to everyone that they’re replaceing scientists with complete morons. To destroy all these agencies as much as possible, and make them function as poorly as possible. That’s the plan. They’ve been doing it across agencies.

Qualified person? NO! Yes-man narcissist? Absolutely, do they have friends? We’ll bring them in, too.

Yet, still - the response is: “I was SHOCKED at what they said/did! Can they be that stupid?” Yes. Yes, they are. They always have been.

Yet, still - people want to believe in the best from people. That they aren’t trying to hurt and kill people on purpose for no good reason. Well, stop thinking that. They want to hurt and kill people, because they can profit off of it, and they can enjoy the suffering of others.

Stop giving them the benefit of the doubt. Shout out to Reuters on this one. I know we want them to say things outright, but sometimes subtlety is a fucking weapon in the war of information.

The spokesperson said under Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Richardson “FEMA is shifting from bloated, DC-centric dead weight to a lean, deployable disaster force that empowers state actors to provide relief for their citizens.”

Richardson said during the briefing that there would be no changes to the agency’s disaster response plans despite having told staff to expect a new plan in May, the sources told Reuters.

Richardson’s comments come amid widespread concern that the departures of a raft of top FEMA officials, staff cuts and reductions in hurricane preparations will leave the agency ill-prepared for a storm season forecast to be above normal.

Reuters - without giving up any easily out-of-context quotables to dismiss them as biased - is clearly telling you what you need to know.

Thank God the guy said he didn’t plan to change anything for the year. Seems like he should get some briefings from his staff on the pertinent issues for the agency before any more press conferences.

The ironic part is that the states that need FEMA the most are poor, red ones. Those of us in states with actual income subsidize their constant rebuilding of shit after it gets trashed by the same climate they don’t believe us changing. They just keep rebuilding in the same places and we keep paying to rebuild them, and now they’re preventing their own help to… Own the libs or something? I’m not sure what the actual plan is there, except for a bunch of fascists to enrich themselves and oppress everyone including their own voters in the process.
